The Congress of Vienna
After Napoleon, the powers redraw the map of Europe and agree on a concerted order.
Envoys of Austria, Russia, Prussia, Britain and a restored France sit in Vienna for half a year, reinstating overthrown dynasties and drawing the borders anew. Poland is partitioned once more, Germany reduced to a confederation of some three dozen states, the Netherlands and Piedmont assigned the role of barriers against France. A habit takes hold of settling disputes at joint congresses of the powers, and there will be no great war in Europe for nearly forty years. The restrictions on Jews lifted under Napoleon are brought back in a number of German cities.
