Amon אמון מלך יהודה

Amon became king at twenty-two and reigned two years (2 Kings 21:19). He had witnessed his father's repentance but followed instead his father's youth: he served the very images Manasseh had removed at the end of his life, «and he did not humble himself before the Lord as Manasseh his father had humbled himself, but multiplied guilt» (2 Chronicles 33:23).

It ended quickly: his servants conspired and killed the king in his own house. The people of the land struck down the conspirators and made his eight-year-old son Josiah king (2 Kings 21:23–24) — a rare case in which the dynasty was preserved not by the court but by the people.

His reign was AM 3283–3285 by the traditional count, 643–641 BCE by the academic one.
