Eliezer son of Dodavahu אליעזר בן דודוהו

Jehoshaphat, a righteous king, had one weakness all his life: he clung to the house of Ahab. He went with Ahab to Ramoth-gilead and barely survived; he married his son to Ahab's daughter, and two generations later that marriage nearly wiped out the house of David; and at the end he agreed with Ahaziah king of Israel to build ships for long voyages.

That is when Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah appears: "because you have joined with Ahaziah, the LORD has broken your works." The ships were wrecked and could not sail.

Nothing more is said of him — not where he came from, not what became of him. Mareshah is a town in the Shephelah, the same place where Asa met the Cushite army. A prophet from the provinces, one sentence, one word that came true.
