The court that demanded truth without consolation; Ger and much of Polish Hasidism came out of it.
The Kotzker Rebbe, R. Menachem Mendel Morgensztern, a student of Przysucha, took its idea to the limit: wonders make a person slack, the work must be one's own, and the worst thing is to claim of oneself what is not there. The court was small and severe, students were selected, and for his last twenty years the rebbe barely came out to people.
The legacy outgrew the court: the Chiddushei ha-Rim came from Kotzk and through him Ger, while Kotzk's sayings spread across the Hasidic world.
