The Hungarian Teitelbaum line: from the Yismach Moshe in Ujhely to the Satmar court rebuilt after the Shoah in New York.
The Yismach Moshe, R. Moshe Teitelbaum, brought Hasidism into Hungary, where things had been done otherwise. The line ran through Ujhely and Sighet to Satmar.
After the Shoah R. Yoel Teitelbaum moved the court to New York and became the most consistent opponent of Zionism among Hasidic leaders; his Vayoel Moshe argues the case at length through the Three Oaths. He also built in America the community that preserved the pre-war Hungarian way of life whole, from language to dress.
