Jehu son of Hanani יהוא בן חנני
a prophet who spoke to the northern king and to the southern one alike
His first word is to Baasha, king of Israel: I raised you from the dust and made you ruler over My people, and you walked in the way of Jeroboam and made My people sin — therefore your house will be as the house of Jeroboam. The sentence was carried out by Zimri, who cut off Baasha's whole line.
The second comes decades later and in another kingdom. Jehoshaphat came back alive from Ramoth-gilead after campaigning with Ahab, and Jehu son of Hanani went out to meet him: "should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD? For this, wrath is upon you from before the LORD. Yet good things are found in you, for you removed the asherahs from the land and set your heart to seek God."
This is a rare case in Scripture where rebuke is mixed directly with praise, and both halves are said aloud.
Chronicles refers to his records as a source on Jehoshaphat: "the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat… behold, they are in the words of Jehu son of Hanani, which are entered in the book of the kings of Israel."
